China has dozens of cities with one million or more long-term residents, including the three global cities of Beijing, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. By 2025, the country will be home to more than 220 cities with over a million inhabitants. China’s urban population will increase by 400 million people by 2025, when its cities will house a combined population of over one billion.
